Committees

The Real Estate Council’s Government Affairs Committee researches, monitors, opposes and promotes public policy issues that may impact the commercial real estate industry as well as long-term job growth and quality of life in the greater Dallas area. The committee also informs and educates the membership and identifies and endorses candidates for public office. The Government Affairs Committee has two subcommittees, the Community Issues Committee and the Legislative Affairs Committee, and a fundraising arm, the Dallas 100.

The Community Issues Committee identifies current issues affecting the commercial real estate industry and the mission of The Real Estate Council. This subcommittee invites expert guest speakers to educate members on relevant issues and provides briefings for members on newly enacted or pending legislative matters.

The Legislative Affairs Committee monitors and identifies statewide public policy issues, follows activities of the Real Estate Councils of Texas state coalition, serves as member liaison to the coalition and identifies member volunteers for public testimony.

The Dallas 100 is a special fundraising committee of The Real Estate Council’s Political Action Committees. The group hosts dinners at private residences that feature prominent and influential guest speakers.
