We are currently staffing our 2010 committees, so now is the time to let us know how you would like to participate. Below is a list of standing committees. If you would like to serve, update your profile to let us know your interests and contact Tessa Doiel at tessa@recouncil.com or 214.692.3605.

The real estate council Standing Committees
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE researches policies that may impact long-term job growth and quality of life issues in the greater Dallas area and informs and educates the membership. Subcommittees include:

    • The Community Issues Committee identifies current issues affecting the commercial real estate industry and the mission of The Real Estate Council. This subcommittee invites expert guest speakers to educate members on relevant issues and provides briefings for members on newly enacted or pending legislative matters.
    • The Legislative Affairs Committee monitors and identifies statewide public policy issues, follows activities of the Real Estate Councils of Texas state coalition, serves as member liaison to the coalition and identifies member volunteers for public testimony.
    • The D100 is a special fundraising committee of The Real Estate Council’s Political Action Committees. The group hosts dinners at private residences that feature prominent and influential guest speakers.

      MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS communicates with the membership and builds awareness of The Real Estate Council and The Real Estate Council Foundation within the greater community.

      MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE recruits, maintains and mentors the membership base of the organization.

      PROGRAMS COMMITTEE plans membership meetings and programs.

      The Real Estate Council Foundation Committees
      ASSOCIATE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL, ALC, is a one-year leadership development program intended to educate and inspire a selected group of young commercial real estate professionals regarding issues of importance to our community. Programming is directed by the ALC Steering Committee composed of ALC Alumni and The Real Estate Council leadership.
       
      ASSOCIATE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, ALCAA, is open to former ALC participants who are current members. ALCAA sponsors ongoing activities throughout the year.
       
      COMMUNITY INITIATIVES COMMITTEE develops criteria and qualifications for the commitment of professional services and funds and makes recommendations for distribution to the Board of Directors. The Research and Development subcommittee serves as the due diligence arm for this committee and applies metrics to monitor results.
       
      FIGHTNIGHT COMMITTEE plans this annual spring black tie fundraising event that benefits The Real Estate Council Foundation's community initiatives.

      FUND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE identifies and seeks to obtain additional financial resources for operations.

      GIVING GALA COMMITTEE plans this annual fall fundraising event that benefits The Real Estate Council Foundation's community initiatives.
       
      PROFESSIONAL SERVICES COMMITTEE communicates and coordinates between membership and community initiative recipients regarding the need for and availability of technical and professional resources.
