Our Commitment to Privacy
The Real Estate Council Inc. and The Real Estate Council Foundation (TREC) understand the concerns individuals have with the privacy of their personal information. In order to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy, we have created this Privacy Policy. The following discloses our general policies relating to information gathering and dissemination practices from this Web site.

Credit Card Numbers
When an individual uses the TREC Web site to make an online transaction, the credit card billing information, including the name on the card, billing address, and expiration date, is used to process the transaction. All this information is encrypted using SSL, industry standard secure technology. This encryption is designed to prevent theft or interception of the information.

TREC stores only encrypted versions of individual’s credit card numbers. TREC has access to only the last four digits of the number, and a transaction identification number issued by TREC for identification purposes. However, in a case such as a billing dispute, it may be necessary for TREC to have access to the entire credit card number. In such a case, TREC will try to resolve the billing dispute with only the encrypted number.

Transacting online with TREC will not open your credit card information to dissemination. TREC does not disclose, sell, trade, rent, or otherwise reveal the individual’s credit card information to third parties, including advertisers or marketers. This information is only used to process the transaction.

Individual’s Information
TREC collects the individual’s information including name, company, phone number, and email address to send a confirmation of the transaction for the individual’s records. TREC may also send emails or postal mail about meeting notices, upcoming events and other TREC business.

Except as provided in this Privacy Policy, we do not disclose nonpublic personal information to anyone except as permitted by law, however, we may choose to disclose the information we collect to companies that perform services on our behalf, such as payment processors, data processors, technical systems consultants and programmers, and the advertising firms we use to promote our Web site. Additionally, this information may be shared with our funding and community partners. We do not sell nonpublic personal information to third-party marketers.

TREC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Please check this page periodically for changes. Your use of this site following the posing of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes. Information collected prior to the time any change is posted will be used according to the policies in effect at the time the information was collected.
